LOCAL MAN IN SERIOUS CONDITION AFTER HALLOWEEN ALTERCATION
RUCIDA, CA – A local handyman is listed in serious condition at St. Ray’s Hospital after a Halloween altercation with a group of local teenagers.
Kesuke “Mr.”Miyagi, 72, was attempting to break up a fight between a gang of strong, well-trained teenagers and Daniel LaRusso when the group turned on him and gave the elderly gentleman a savage beating.
Miyagi suffered multiple broken ribs, a collapsed lung and severe concussion. He is conscious but on a respirator, according to St. Ray’s spokesman Ralph Moore.
LaRusso, 16, recently moved to Racita from Jersey City, NJ, and has apparently had trouble fitting in. A lack of peers his own age led him to attempt a friendship with the older, more Asian man.
The awkward teen was chased to the scene from a local costume dance, which LaRusso attended dressed as a shower.
“I laid there yelling at them to stop, to show mercy,” LaRusso said. “But they kept saying ‘Mercy is for the weak’. I tried to help him, but look at me. I couldn’t beat up a fourth grade girl.”
Motive for the initial attack is unknown, but LaRusso was reportedly dancing with a girl that was way too hot for him before the altercation.
Police are looking for a group of five to seven males, ages 16-19, dressed as skeletons with martial arts backgrounds. Anyone with information is asked to call the Racita Police Department.
